Licking My Chops

Description
If the Laffs lose one more game, we have a 7 out of 8 chance at a pick in the range of 11-15. Oh, the possibilities: I can't wait for Monday to come. Could a guy like Rossi (whom I think is NHL ready right now) fall out of the top 10 because of #size concerns? More likely, without Chicago above the Toronto pick, does Askarov fall to 11-12, around the spot where Spencer Knight was picked? Come on, Jackets!!

Give me Askarov. Foegele ain’t going anywhere. He’ll be on Staal’s left side until both refuse to play here anymore.

If the Zona, CLB, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary and Chicago all win and Toronto, Edmonton, and Pittsburgh don’t win the lottery (please be Minnesota, please, please).
1. Minnesota
2-8. in stone
9. Jets
10. NYR
11. Panthers
12. Nashville
13. Toronto (goes to us)
14. Oilers
15. Pittsburgh

Askarov is my favorite realistic possibility. Rossi, OTOH, is one of my favorite prospects in the entire draft. If he somehow slips because of size concerns, you should run to the podium as fast as you possibly can to grab him before someone sneaks behind you.

Many NHL teams ARE, unfortunately, especially when it comes to natural centermen. It's the main reason why Caufield (IMO a top 8 prospect last year) dropped all the way to #15.

It's the travesty that comes from dinosaur scouting archetypes. If Rossi somehow gets overlooked in the top 10, which I doubt, Carolina will easily capitalize on that.

You say that like you expect NHL GM's to make save decisions and not give Tyler Myers 30 million dollars bc he has a 6" long neck or JJ 3.25x5 bc he's big and muh G R I T

Nashville would draft Askarov.

I hope that Rossi doesn't fall out of the top 10 for the sake of the league. If it somehow happens, though, I hope that Carolina is right there to feast on it.

He won't. I suspect he goes at 4 or 5.

Can you really see NYR passing on him? Hes exactly what they need.

I have him as my #2 prospect, above Byfield, actually. So much goddamn talent in one small package that you have to be clueless to not draft him in the top 5. I just know that Rossi isn't really an Ottawa-type of player, based on what they've drafted over the last few years. Maybe Detroit takes him if Stutzle doesn't fall to them. We'll see who's the club that takes him.

Oh. You know Rod is playing Rossi on the 4th line to start. If Svech gets stuck on the 4th so does Rossi.

I mean Nick Robertson's stats were very similar to his. Not sure if I'd have him as high as Byfield.

Oh boy... You'd pass on Rossi at 10? You lose all credibility.

If Askarov is gone, Mercer or Jarvis is the pick.

Chicago won't be the Oilers. LD and McDavid are going to turn it on tomorrow night...watch. Then the last game, Hawks choke

I did say if. 14th pick would still be good. Basically paid 3.95 million to move up atleast 9 spots in the first round.

I know, but I don't see it as a Chicago fan who watches every game. Hawks should be rolling the Oilers right now as they are killing them at 5 on 5 play, but the Oilers special teams especially PP is unreal. Hawks can't stay out of the box and last night's game was a fluke with the oilers taking a ton of penalties.

I agree, 3.95 million to move up in this year's draft is a steal! Absolutely robbed the Leafs if this happens. If Chicago wins and the Leafs get the #1 pick, then you know the lottery is a BS
