Let's look at it this way. They have 2 defenceman. Detroit don't have players, San Jose only have forwards, Anaheim are all looking for retirement homes, Los Angeles are looking for roommates for their retirement homes. Ottawa are looking for league minimum players. It's not bottom 5

In all honesty, I'd put at the bottom of the play-in teams. Maybe above someone like the Rangers. But 23/24. It's BAD

Anahiem's D is better than this. Lindholm, Folwer, Manson. San Jose's is better than this too. San Jose's is overpaid and on contracts that go till they're 40, but Burns, Karlson, Classic is still way better than what the leafs have. I won't argue you on the rest, but at least LA has doughty and Ottawa has Chabot. Leafs is probably still better but at least those teams have their #1 and just have to fill in the rest around that.

Hey! Don't pick at the Ducks like that! Hampus Lindholm: 26 years old. Cam Fowler: 28 years old. Josh Manson: 28 years old. MDZ was the only defenceman that they had that was over 30 this year. *EDIT*: Matt Irwin played 9 games.

For comparison, the current Ducks roster listed has an average age of 27.6 (And that's with Irwin instead of Mahura or Guhle), and the Canes are at 27.3.

Not that I'm comparing the overall quality on the Ducks back end to the Canes, we're just bad enough on the right side without you coming around calling everyone a senior citizen! tears of joy

Anaheim has more parts, but I wouldn't say that they're "better" per se. The massive hole on the right side, plus the fact that Manson missed a big chunk of time really made them look bad this year. A full year of Manson, plus *hopefully* filling the other hole on the right side, would make them better though!

Spot on re: San Jose though, and Ottawa has the chance to look really, really good in a couple of years!
