What about Marner for Ellis and Forsberg?

If Nashville wanted to trade Turris to buffalo which I don’t think is a great idea, but NSH would have to take back Ristolainen due to the cap. Sabres don’t have a lot as it is.

Easy no. That's an overpay by NSH.

Leafs would add to that like Kapanen?

I posted a similar trade yesterday, but with $1.5m retention instead of $1.25m and multiple BUF fans said they would do the deal with this retention, though begrudgingly. They said they'd prefer another defenseman going back, but would ultimately do the deal. With this build, NSH has the cap to add the extra $0.25m back to the retention.

I still wouldn't do that deal. I don't see Forsberg being traded at all - he is one of the few players that shows up to big games and that's not the guy they need to trade. An Ellis for Marner based deal could work, but not with Forsberg included. Maybe if NSH wins the lottery it becomes more possible, but NSH needs Forsberg as they have no one else on the left side -- Tolvanen can play either, but seems to developing more as a RW.

Sadly, this is probably the best Poile will be able to do this summer.

No way should NSH retain on Turris + 2nd, if that's all that's coming back though. I'd rather they buy him out and keep the pick, if that's the case.

I wouldn't hate a Marner/Ellis swap.

What about Marner+Lije+Johnsson for Ellis + Cap Dump? Johnsson isn't anyone first pick for a left winger but he can do top 6 minutes.

That’s a no thanks from the leafs. I’m not seeing any big changes needed that doesn’t include saying fair well to UFA’s. Think Columbus played very well to come back last game. Leafs just need to be sharp. They have been steadily getting better but they just aren’t there yet.

No cap Dump if your aquiring Marner - Johnsson may not a teams first choice for LW but he's not a cap dump

What? Marner plus Lilly for Ellis and a cap dump? Absolutely not.

This rhd frenzy seems to be peaking. How far did Ellis and the preds elite Dcore make it this season????

Not a bad offer, but I think it's just too much cap for the Preds to take on -- so it wouldn't work from that standpoint. The "cap dump" would need to be a player making at least $4m, which NSH doesn't really have any cap dump players like that other than Turris. And I would think TOR has no interest in Turris.

At this rate, not much farther than the Maple Leafs. But if Toronto wants to be serious about contendings, they need someone that can play top minutes.

If they trade for someone like Ellis, Lijegren will definitely be apart of the deal.

Interesting for sure. Would TOR add Liljegren to the deal as well? Ellis + Arvy + Duchene for Marner + Lily + Risto + 8OA? And if NSH gets 1OA that would be unreal -- Laf + Rossi would be sick.

I think it could be arranged, TO may ask for a mid round pick to cover Liljegren but personally I'd do Marner Liljegren for Ellis Arvidsson

All of a sudden NSH could have Laf (if they get 1OA - dreaming), Rossi, Tolvanen, Tomasino as young forward prospects and Farrance, Fabbro, Liljegren as young defenseman -- pretty good start for a rebuild

And Marner is still only 22 - it's a pretty stellar base

Not if their moving marner and taking back a cap dump. How much longer till Ellis starts to decline? Don’t get me wrong I would love to have Ellis but at what cost?
