Lafreniere isn't a guy you trade up for imo.

Not for Ottawa imo. Better off drafting a C and keeping all the assets they would have to give up. Don't get me wrong Lafreniere is going to be a superstar, but if it costs Ottawa let's say, Byfield+Batherson+ the 22nd and 33rd picks, I don't think you're getting more value out of Lafreniere than you are out of that package, especially considering the relative impact of a star C vs a star W.

it's not the worst idea. We've got Guentzel, Zucker, McCann, and Poulin coming up for our left wingers. I just think it would be more beneficial for us to draft a center and transition into the next era of the Penguins, even if Laffy is incredible

Trading away Lafreniere would be moronic.

Lafreniere May move to C. He’s such an elite playmaker it’s almost a waste to leave him on the wing. If we were able to draft him you can build around him for the next decade plus. I’d trade Guentzel and get a third line C and a D which we desperately need

Byfield goes to LA at #2 and Stutzle at #3 to Ottawa. So not happening Pittsburgh will wind up with Stutzle not Byfield.
