It’s looking more and more likely that he is going to retire

Well it has been the complete opposite ever since July 1st last year. This team could use some luck.

Why not trade Ehlers instead of Connor?

Honestly Ehlers is the superior player In my eyes. He is one of the best players in the league in transition. Kyle is a very good goal scorer, but tbh playing with Mark Scheifele all year really benefited him. He wasn’t even close to the same without him.

We value Connor more (for COL needs)

He's also younger and has more room to improve. If he is playing with Cirelli then I'm sure he'll play just as good as he would with Shief.

Lafreniere Sheif Laine
Connor Cirelli Wheeler

Would be a better top 6 IMO

Yeah tbh it’s more of a preference thing, I like his overall game more

Shhhh, Ehlers is better. Better play driver and doesn’t need FeFe to help him

Totally understandable man, Cirelli is a great player and teams should be targeting him. I understand why you wouldn’t want to let him go because I wouldn’t either

Who, realistically would you move to keep him then? Most of your team has NMC or NTCs and why would they accept a trade to leave a perennial contender in Florida? Most teams that could afford the cap hit aren’t close to contending so couldn’t see any reason for those players to waive.

Why are Avs adding a 2nd? The difference between Byram and Connor isn't a 2nd.

I just looked at it like the Mark stone trade. Top prosepect and a second for a top end winger, I would still do it 1 for 1 anyways

There's a huge difference between Byram and Brannstrom. Byram is the No.1 rated drafted prospect.

Stone is also better than Connor.

Oh yeah I know, I just think it would be something like that in real life. A tiny bit extra for the “sure thing” even though Byram is about a sure thing as it gets

Worth keeping in mind that ELC's just got more valuable due to the flat cap, so Byram on an ELC for 3 years has immense value.
