Yup, been saying this to my friends. Colorado has the speed of EDM but they have more than 2 good players. We dont have enough defense to handle that lol

I’m actually curious, do the Hawks prefer to play VGK?
As an Avs fan, I’d rather lose to VGK and play ARI lol

In my POV the Avs are the Oilers but with more players and a defense. Too much speed. Also got clapped a few times in the regular season and I dont wanna see that again lol

100% agree. We did tighten it up more today but we can't keep taking the dumb penalties. We will need vintage crow all series that's for sure

hawks prefer Vegas. We don't have the defense to handle COL's speed. You guys have more than 2 good players

I guess it also helps that VGK could be missing Pacioretty too

Huge W for the Hawks. Boqvist, Kubalik, and Dach are rookies. This is a HUGE W for their development. To have 1st timers elevate their play the way they did is freaking awesome.

Not to mention Toews and Kieth playing like its 2010. Crow didn't have the strongest series but he was vintage crow tonight. Needs to clean up the rebound control, but he made huge stops for us tonight. Gonna need him to be vintage crow all series against VGK/COL

Minus the 2nd goal where he wasn't tracking the puck well

That's fine. He saved like 5 that should have been goals. Got the help of the post once or twice as well though. He looks slow whenever he loses his net/ Definitely still getting back into game shape but we are going to need big performances from him if we are going to have any chance of winning the next round

Not to mention kane not doing much all series. If he turns on the showtime, watchout!

I just thought of this, but I'm not excited about playing against an incentived Robin Lehner either.

Lehner is a stud, but idk why you would say he is "incentivized". Where id this narrative come from that Lehner hates the hawks? Yeah we traded him but all he said was he loved his time in Chicago. I never heard him say anything bad against the origination

Yep. Strome and Nylander need to get going as well. We don't need ppl production, but we do need them to at least get 3 or 4 goals next series as a line.

I don't think he hates the Hawks at all, but they did trade him away. Upper management didn't believe that we could make the playoffs. Players don't ever feeling like they're going to miss the playoffs...until they're out of it. I'd be incentived.

To be fair we would not have made the playoffs if there was no virus. No one saw this coming. And If this series had happened before the break we probably would have got run out the building. The break was the best thing that could happen to the vets. Probably just recency bias, but I really feel like we could make a run. Kane didn't even do much against the oilers production wise (of course drawing a crowd of defenders every time he touches the ice is doing something). Point is if he gets going and Toews stays hot we have a chance.

I 100% feel like we can make a run. IMO...every single team in the "play-in round" has an immediate edge in the 1st/2nd games. They've played meaningful hockey. The bye teams can pretend like their games mean something, but BOS literally doesn't even care that they're winless right now. They're trying to make sure they're "good to go" which isn't the same thing as backs against the wall gotta play all out hockey. I think we'll see more upsets in this next round.
