Guhle would be such a steal, Im a fan of his. Was hoping he would have been hanging around in the 20s for the avs but his stock is rising too much to even be a consideration now

I also like the off the board pick of Neighbours I think if Guhle and Gunler are gone its a toss up between Neighbours and Schneider and could depend on how each does from August to November in their respective leagues providing their leagues start before the draft.

Neighbours would be a good pick, feels thats reaching at 16 for him, could always trade back if thats the case.

I think there could be lots of pick flipping at the draft bc teams boards are based on their scouting completed in March so teams boards are probably going to be drastically different outside the top 10.

Persoanlly I think Avs go William Wallinder with their pick in the mid to late 20s,

MTL shouldn't go for Askarov. Even if hes there. Cayden Primeau is legit.

Wallinder would be an interesting pick. I also like you think there will still be a lot of jockeying but I could see a couple of the top 11-20 leapfrogging some of the top 10. Someone like Schneider, Gunler, Guhle or even Laperrier if he can stay healthy could pass someone like Perfetti, Sanderson or Quinn if they have a slow start. Lapierre also has the skill to pass a lot of the top 10 but is unlikely due to his injury history

I agree Askarov would be redundant with Primeau but I included him cause there are rumours he was MB's choice at 9th while Timmins liked Schneider.

yeah its going to be a complete crap shoot for the draft, im excited for it.
Plus depending on other leagues starting up...wonder if that will sway some picks for teams, example like Wallinder who can come to the AHL. If they start up in December do you take a guy who you can get in the AHL earlier over unknown what is goign to happen wit the CHL clubs? Could be more value having a guy in your Ahl system earlier

Agreed it will be an exciting draft day for sure. I think there will be a lot going on in the month between the Final game right up to and including draft day a lot of players, picks and prospects will move in that time period like maybe double or triple the usual amount due to the flat cap.

I agree with that. Also think the hold out guys like Honka, Lias Andersson, Borgrstom, Pool Party...they will have more value to them for their cheap cap hits. Can see cap teams paying more than normal to get those guys

Fat chance of Askarov going at #16 He's a likely target of Detroit at #4 or slightly lower.

I would add Amirov, Jarvis (if he’s still there), Mysak, Perreault, Bourque and Holloway to the list.

There really are a lot of good picks in that range, I was just laying out who I would target to fill positional needs as well as get one of the better players.

he won't be but they should if he was still there. askarov is good value at #16. when price was drafted people asked why because they had theodore. habs fans thought the last thing they needed was a goalie.

in the ahl primeau only put up a .908sv which is decent but not spectacular. that's only good for 24th place among goalies and 7th among rookies. he needs to prove a lot more before anyone can say he's legit. he is off to a good start though.

I dont get your point about the flatcap encreasing trades. From what I understand it will make trades harder.

Between, the 12-15 teams that are stuck against the cap ceiling that will want to dump salaries just to resign their actual players without getting NHL comtracts back and the 5-7 teams that are too cheap/carefull to take those cap dumps or get rid of futures, it doesnt leave a lot of possibilities for trades.

I could see a couple of Marleau type deals (for a 1st) made by desesperate teams, but not much.

And I feel the oposite will be true those 12-15 teams will be desperate to dump cap and as such will move good young players or high picks to the ten teams with the lowest cap hits who will demand very good compensation. No matter how cheap an owner is even Melnyk would take say Alzner + 1st or Norlinder for a low pick
