If we don’t win the lottery on Monday this group is finished as contenders. Sid will retire here but Geno May head back to Russia so I think it’s best to cash in on whatever value he still has

If we don’t get Lafreniere on Monday sure. I don’t think we can make that many helpful moves though for next season with the weird schedule

Uh.... Carolina have 10 NHL calibre d men right now, including Jake Bean. That's gonna be a no. Value wise, I don't think it's enough for Letang.

I know you have a deep blueline but finding offensive D that are right handed isn’t easy and it’s basically a rental deal because he’s be a UFA the next year

Why are we signing Reimer for 5M?
Radek Faksa is not a 2nd line center.
Carolina has a glut of defense. You aren't trading Letang there.
John Marino for 3 years at 1.25M AAV? As your number 1 defenseman? He better fire his agent into the Sun after signing him that deal.
Engelland is 38 years old. What on Earth are we signing him for? To see if he can be worse than Rob Scuderi or Jack Johnson.

Sorry, but this is awful.

The point isn’t to make the team instantly better in a rebuild. We have probably the worst prospect pool in the league and we don’t have many top end draft picks. I know Faksa isn’t a 2nd liner. The point of that trade is to get Malkin off the books and get a first rounder. Reimer is a solid goalie who can split starts with Jarry, who’s never started a full season.
