I’m one of the people screaming on here to not trade burns since he is still a top 10 offensive D man but this trade gives us a solid defensive adman with offensive upside a 3c and a backup goalie..... I’d consider it if I was offered this for
Burns

Demko could be a decent starter for the Sharks. Plus he's still improving and under team control.

Beagle is more of a 4C.

Not that I like underselling players on the team I root for, but Myers isn't really solid defensively and Beagle is a 4C at best, but only because he's good at faceoffs and can kill penalties. He's a possession black hole at 5v5. But despite that I don't think VAN should do this trade unless there's also another deal where they shed even more cap.

I decline that easily as the Canucks. Hughes is already on PP1 so Burns wouldn't have much of a role.

I don't understand why people don't understand this and still go after players like Burns, Barrie, etc.

Lots of interest in Demko, not so much with Beagle or Myers. Sharks probably pass to be honest. Burns has more value than this suggests. Myers and Beagle are more or less cap dumps which amount to more cap space than Burns' contract.

Burns is a beast he doesn't need PP time to put up points. You can't even compare him to Barrie. That's like comparing Virtanen to Boeser.

The only reason why the Canucks can get him so cheap is because he is signed too long. Those last couple years he will probably have to be shifted to RW.

It's not like Myers' and Beagle's contract are gems either though.
