The Dream 2020-2021

Description
Absolute dream but highly highly unlikely it happens.

First, hire Bruce Boudreau as defensive assistant coach. MIN was the best team in the league the last 3 seasons at preventing scoring chances with him as coach.

BUF trade is based off that report of BUF willing to move their 1st+Montour for a 2C. Only do trade if Rossi is available which is not particularly likely. MAYBE do it for Perfetti if they think he can play center or if they think Lundell has Bergeron upside. He has the defensive ability, does he have the offense?

[Created this before reports of Talon being fired came out] FLA trade is based on FLA not being that smart and all about saving money. They get Stralman off the books, a young good defensemen to replace him, and still get a 1st. They lose Borgstrom but they don't care about him anyways. Caps take Seth Jarvis with the FLA pick and he replaces Oshie next season when he's taken in the expansion.

Would be nice to keep Kempny as the #7, but don't think he'll want that so I moved him. He can go anywhere, not just MTL.

O yeah, they also have $8M in cap space to f around with.

Rather have McMichael play center with top minutes in the OHL than play bottom 6 wing here without any PP time. Much better for his development to go back to OHL.

Caps paid a 3rd and since then he's won a Cup playing top pair and is on a great contract. So I'd say his value improved. But if that's your biggest issue with all of this that's fine. I'll take a 3rd for him.

you think so? thought him being in the NHL would help him develop more . imo scoring 100+ points in 52 games kinda implies hes too good for that league

If he was getting center minutes here I'd be okay, I just want him to become a center more than a winger. He can do both but we aren't in any hurry to get him in here so I don't feel like he has to be here. I won't be mad if he is but don't mind cooking him longer. I'm also a huge fan of Sprong and this is kind of his last chance so if he isn't starting for us he won't come around so rather give him a chance since we have way more time with McMichael.

Agreed. I would even rotate McMichael in with Eller to give him experience.

I wouldn't mind giving him a chance, but who is he replacing. Would much rather give Sprong a shot.
