people hated him cause in game 1 against columbus he was playing sloppy and uncharacteristic of his usual self. After that once repaired with matthews he started playing like the marner leafs fans grew up loving

He really hasn't had that so much this season though. Still not saying they should trade him, but that "Mountain Dew" factor was pretty scarce this year (though he did still produce).

if marners being traded an elite rhd/a good rhd + decent second liner will be the return. not futures.

I don't think trading Marner is the problem, but getting prospects is the problem. Leafs are built to compete for the next 5 years at least, adding prospects does not help that.

Now, if you're talking Manson plus, that's something the Leafs would look at.

Yeah I don't think those people are grounded in reality. Manson is very good and would make a great partner for Morgan Rielly. Is he perfect, of course not, which player in the NHL is?
