Lafreniere from Pittsburgh

Created by: PLDGEY
Team: 2020-21 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 8, 2020
Published: Aug. 8, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Assuming PIT wants to add a couple more cups during their time with Malkin and Crosby

They think they can do this, while still adding to their prospect pool

Basically,

Is Connon Brown (@2M for 3 years) + Tierney (@1.75M for 3 years) + 33OA + Formenton + Taking JJ and Bjugstadt enough to move from 5OA to 1OA?

If its not enough, the 33OA could be bumped to the NYI 1st and/or Formenton could be swapped with Batherson or L.Brown (or Lassi)

---------------------------------

PIT would then have the required cap flexability, and Tierney/Brown are insanely movable contracts once PIT prospects are ready for those spots (PIT could get some good picks back)

5% chance the team that gets the first pick considers trading it.

Oh I know its an insane longshot. The optics of trading 1OA alone make it nearly impossible, this is just a thought experiment

This is entirely predicated on PIT valuing stacking cups in their dynasty over looking to rebuild/retool.

I would suggest 3 and 5 to move up to 1st.

Also the other conditions you listed.

So realistically bjud isnt gonna cost a ton to offload so id just keep the best player in the draft and call it a day.

Lol hell no. I think your original 5% chance of *considering* is overestimating it lol

Less than that this year. Lafrienere is an instant top 6 on an ELC.

I don’t think it’s that high but ppg potential for sure. He’s the #1 pick (based on players as prospects not where they are now) in any draft except 2015 in the last 10 yrs. Whoever gets the 1st pick is just taking him and saying thank you.

I'm praying bro. This team needs him. We can't do Shesterkin like we did Lundqvist.
