Change the third to a second and oilers accept. Tatar or drouin will accept either but the second is rather important part for oilers to recoup.

I have no idea what possible use you think Hudon serves, but the Blues are absolutely not paying to give you Allen. And they're not paying a 2020 1st to move Steen.

Fifty years ago, I used to smoke enough weed to think things like that St Louis trade were good ideas. Seems like yesterday . . .

I dont know how they expect to sign Pietrangelo then... Plus, no team is taking Steen for free. Look at Marleau last year... They paid a first to get rid of
    him.

I dont think you ever stopped smoking too much weed...

They move Bozak, Steen and Allen and replace them from within the organization and they would have $14 million to sign Pietrangelo and Dunn. The returns might not be great, and they might have to use one of those players to get rid of Steen, but they're not going to have to give away Allen or their first in THIS draft to do so.

1- You know there are other teams in the NHL, right? You're not the only shop in town. And the Blues can always just buy him out if they wish.

2- First of all, Marleau had twice the amount of real dollars in his remaining salary as Steen. Secondly, Marleau's deal was agreed with a built-in buyout. Both of these things obviously will cost in a trade.

On top of that, Steen is the more useful player at the time in question.

Marleau had a nmc, is 40yrs old, was getting paid more. Even considering all that dubas still probably overpaid. 2 Situations are not a good comparison
