? Lul he can get way more than a third.

With his current overall numbers and especially his playoff numbers this season, teams needing a new starter would love to have him. A third is joke of the year worthy

He declined this season and while he’s been solid against Columbus, I don’t see a team giving up more than a 3rd for him. He has 1 year remaining on his contract and he’ll be 32 when the next one starts. I can see him wanting at least 7 mill on his next deal - any team that gives him that will regret it within 2 years

The Islanders can not take on a trade that adds cap.

because good starting goalies are worth more than a 3rd, even if they have a bad shortened season.

Justin Holl might work his way into being a legit 2nd pairing D man, but right now he's still just depth player, and considering OTT went after Zub so hard I imagine he'll be taking a spot on the right side.
OTT DECLINES.

I think he'd get at least a second, even with a down year. He's more or less been one of most consistent goaltenders in the league, especially considering his workload.

Maybe the leafs can get a high 2nd rd pick if a team is desperate, but nothing more than that. He only has 1 year left on his contract.

Maybe a high 2nd if a team is desperate. Youre right , he has been consistent over the years, but he was pretty bad this season. It will be interesting to see what holtby signs for , that should be the what Andersen asks for.

yes, goaltenders with a year left on their deal, it just doesnt happen often because teams arnt dumb enough to trade their starter

if it comes to dealing andersen, a team will pay, especially if toronto offers retention.

i don't believe he gets dealt though.

Best recent comparable is what Lehner got at the TDL. Lehner was a better goalie hands down with even higher workload, and is younger. Plus getting moved at the TDL generally increases a player's value.

Lehner and bishop were both vezina finalists and did not return more than a 2nd rd pick.

Not sure you understand how hockey and the cap works.

Anderson is one of the best goal tenders in the league, he plays in front of the worst D in the league and puts up crazy numbers. If you disagree it's because you don't know hockey. Moreover, you have no reason to be here if you don't realize that players with 1 year or less left on their contract (i.e. mid season) fetch a 1st all the time and they're often worse than Anderson.

I think you guys could win a cup with a goalie. And if you don't like Anderson it's because you don't know Anderson. You'd be getting one of the top 5 goalies in the league. We just can't afford to re-sign him. And while your cap is tight, I think you'll realize soon it's probably the difference between you making a run to the finals this year or not.
