says the dude who traded the team's starting goalie, didnt replace him and brought in an expensive ass old guy who cant play defence for some reason

Hmmm Brent Burns can't play defense. Okay.

And yeah, we trade him because we can't afford to re-sign him and need the cap space. I'd rather pick-up assets than let his contract expire. Anything else geniosity?

Lehner and bishop were both vezina finalists and did not return more than a 2nd rd pick.

Lehner was traded with no years left on his contract at the deadline and brought in a prospect and a player in too, Bishop was traded for Cernak a conditional 2nd, a back up goalie and another pick
but yes, no more than a 2nd round pick

Might I recommend that you get some therapy. You might be lacking the ability to make intelligent statements.

Best recent comparable is what Lehner got at the TDL. Lehner was a better goalie hands down with even higher workload, and is younger. Plus getting moved at the TDL generally increases a player's value.

and being a pending UFA singificantly lowers it

The last thing the Leafs need is more offense.

that's right. Brent Burns can't play defence. He's an offensive defenceman who is 35 years old. and if you'd rather not have a goaltender, well i guess we'd better start checking who is going to be first over all in 2021

You ever read an article before? Try reading the date.

Also you might want to look at previous trades before you talk s***.
Ondrej Kase
Barclay Goodrow
Jean-Gabriel Pageau
Blake Coleman

All got 1sts, and you think Anderson isn't worth a first easy? You alright buddy? Might want to try a new hobby other than hockey and analysis. Don't hurt yourself.

Just leave it @overpaid_lil_pucks this guy is trolling. No point arguing with someone who has no sense of the game or logic.

Cernak was not a highly regarded prospect at the time - did TBL ever receive a 2nd rd pick?

Lehner was also a retained salary transaction - subban is terrible and the other prospect in the deal is a long shot to make the NHL.

you said they were traded for JUST a 2nd round pick, so that wasnt true. And again you are ignoring the fact that Lehner was traded to basically play 10 games for vegas who knows they have a next to zero chance of re-signing him

Alright fine, Andersen can get a high 2nd rd pick + a few AHL caliber players.

Vegas can make a run and lehner will likely play in more than 10 games - I think they have a decent chance at re-signing him. No state income tax and lehner might take a pay cut to get long term security.

I think you guys could win a cup with a goalie. And if you don't like Anderson it's because you don't know Anderson. You'd be getting one of the top 5 goalies in the league. We just can't afford to re-sign him. And while your cap is tight, I think you'll realize soon it's probably the difference between you making a run to the finals this year or not.

Raanta, Bob, Hellebuyck, Rask, Lehner, Raanta, Kuemper, Vasilevskiy, and Gibson are all better. A couple are on the same tier as him.

He had 2 years of top 5-10 goalie GSAA other than that he is middle of the road. Not even close to top 5 goalie. He is a middle tier goalie not worth a low first needless to say a middle 1st. To add to it he is on his downslide production scale.

Lmao can't believe there was a human being that existed and thinks Anderson is top 5 especially after tonight. If he was a top 5 goalie they wouldn't be wanting to trade him
