Would look something like this for Laf, for sure. Habs probably try to replace Suzuki with Caufield imo
Jets are already getting Domi to play 2c

Honestly I would rather keep those assets than get Laffy.

I think for mtl to get lafreniere it’s going to hurt, especially with an expansion draft coming and protection spots a factor. Lessens the quantity factor in the trade.

Suzuki is great but lafrenière is different. Not saying he’s as good, better or worse but he’s in that mcdavid, MacKinnon, Crosby,Matthews etc... as a franchise player. It hurts to give up nick but if kk can continue his development and you sign danault long term you still have a good 1-2.

No way, if Habs can manage to exclude Suzuki in this deal. Jump on it.

It’ll sting. But it hardly hurts the main roster now, and Laf is still a superstar talent that MTL hasn’t had since the 70s....

I have no clue why we wouldn't draft Lafreniere who to me is going to be around a Matthews-Mackinnon type of level and trade any of our other guys. Yes 2C and D are very important but I would rather trade any of those other wingers then Laf. Kyle Connor, Laine or Ehlers would get be able to return a 2C or significant D help

Pulock is very good. He’s exactly what the Jets need. He was a beast vs Florida in that series

Yeah I love the guy and he’s gonna be a huge star when he gets the recognition he deserves but Connor has 50 goal potential on Barzals wing and Niku looks like a real solid prospect seems like a great trade for both sides to me

No from Winnipeg on the Montreal deal and you could drop Bellows and Niku out of the Islander deal.

The unbiased part of me says that this is a fair deal for both sides.

The biased jets fan in me says wpg would be on the wrong end of the deal. I think that Lafreniere is going to be Matthews-mackinnon level. I’d rather move Laine or Connor over him.

With that being said, the return isn’t bad, Domi is a downgrade on both lafreniere and Connor. Suzuki is a major upgrade at 2c. The 1sts likely make a difference in 2-3 years. I think the only piece it hurts mtl to lose is Suzuki. I think the jets should say no to this.

The Habs would counter with

Domi + Drouin + Poehling + Struble + 2020 1st + 2020 3rd

I was thinking this was another Oilers trade lol.

So it would actually be something like

Domi + Kulak + Poehling + Struble + 2020 1st + 2021 1st

From Caps fan, good luck tonight. Hoping for Winny, Minny or Florida over the others for the big prize.
