Offseason

Created by: HawksFan91
Team: 2020-21 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 9, 2020
Published: Aug. 9, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Details on Trades:

1. Brandon Saad to New York Rangers for 2 3rds: While I couldve taken their 3rd and a 2nd, I dont think Saad is worth more then 2 3rds. It clears Cap for Chicago to use to resign the guys they need too, including our big guys in Kubalik and Strome, and it Gives the Rangers another good player that could help in the Defensive Offense standard

2. Olli Maatta and NYR 3rd to Toronto for Kasperi Kapanen: Blackhawks need more scoring help on the wings, especially with Saad leaving in the trade before. The Maple Leafs need help on Defense, and if Maatta plays like he has in the playoffs so far, he can be a decent option for the Leafs to use.

3. Zack Smith and a 3rd to New Jersey for a 5th: Blackhawks dump cap while also making sure New Jersey accepts by using the other 3rd we gained in Saad deal. New Jersey gains another forward option

Blackhawks draft Dylan Holloway in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He may or may not sign, Just added him in to show who we would pick depending on what is taken before (Example: Askarov is chosen before our pick)

I dont think Maatta is right for TOR.

Saad can also get a lot more.

It’s cute that you think the hawks are the reason these trades wouldn’t go through. Nobody wants saad he’s overpaid garbage and maatta is useless compared to kapanen

How is Saad overpaid garbage? Saad is a two-way player that can put up 40-50 points a year, Saad can be on the PP and PK and a playoff beast. I Think Saad worth a 1st and a prospect.

The Hawks are the reason the Saad trade won't go through, but the Toronto one is because of Toronto
