Laf is at least physical. I thought this game exemplified the difference between a regular seaaon game vs playoffs. TOR had tons or speed and posession. Got bumped off the puck too easily. Didn't win enough board battles.

They did also run into really good goaltending

This team would still get bounced in the 1st round like their others as they can't defend. Then you'll hear more about their next scapegoat added to the likes of: Nylander or Barrie....with a list going back years-- Jake Gardiner, Dion Phaneuf, Cufo, Larry Murphy, or Babcock or lack of Matthews ice time, etc.

Good teams start with good defense and one or two elite guys up front. Loading up the front and the backend as an afterthought is not a good strategy. It makes for fast run and gun hockey which is fun to watch for the fans but doesn't work in the playoffs....maybe that's what management wants; fun to watch more then winning a cup?
