Buffalo does not give up Ristolainen to pick up Turris’s ridiculous contract. There’s a chance Nashville buys him out, then maybe offer him a 2-year $2 million deal.

Ristolainen is not good. Turris will be a good 3C as soon as Cozens is ready to be 2C

This concept intrigues me. Risto certainly has his issues, but at least he's NHL-level.

I would be fine with this deal for Turris honestly -- I could see Seattle picking Ristolainen with their selection too. In that case, NSH basically just paid a 2nd to get rid of the Turris contract with no retention -- which would be a fine deal.

I wouldn’t take anything less than a first round pick to take that contract off their hands without any salary retention. It’s poison, you don’t pay a third line Center $6 million a year. It’s not only bad it’s terrible.

well, he starts off at 2C and if Cozens is as advertised he becomes 3C. You can pay your 3C 6 million when you are paying your 2C 925K.

its an increase of 600K over ristolainen for the first 2 years and replaces Okposo's 6 million the last, so its one year that it balloons a bit and hopefully the cap inches up by then or you buy him out, or hes good.

Just because you can pay your third line $6 million does not mean you should. It’s a bad trade and the Sabres should never make it. If they acquire him The only asset they should give is a seventh round pick. They don’t need a second Albatross contract when they already have Okposo’s.

We simply disagree and that's ok
