Way off. Perron is only a $4 million cap hit and he's arguably the best value contract on the entire Blues team. Not only would we not trade him before guys like Bozak, Steen, Jake Allen, etc, we sure wouldn't give up a first either.

If the player was Bozak and we were sending you a 3rd rounder or something then maybe. But Buffalo is likely on the M-NTC list for Bozak.

Omg these trades never happen. Don’t package the best player in a trade with high end picks to move they could just trade the player

I buggered this up anyway, the picks are for the wrong years.
I was just goofing.
But if every GM said no and this was the best offer, who knows.
Go back to 2014 and see what the Hawks got for Leddy and his contract was nothing as big as these.

No worries I like playing on this thing too, it's fun!

Plus I don't think Buffalo fans have much of an appetite to trade with the Blues anymore wink haha amiright?

David Perron is actually very good, so that trade is not at all reasonable.

Phil Kessel does not get traded with a 1st round pick and he has a pretty good NTC

@littlejerryseinfeld
@Blueman96 Yup you got it, all for fun. Pure fantasy.
@Timmah007

Of course it is all for fun, but read the title. Armstrong and Sullivan have not received any other offers and the Blues and Yotes need to get under the cap before the first game.
That is the premise of this post.
All for fun.
I know he had MUCH less value but look what the Leafs had to give up to clear cap space and move out Marleau!
Again all for fun.

You are correct.
Bozak would be moved most likely.
He could fit into the 2nd Center spot until Cozens was ready as well.
I picked Perron because he had a longer contract.
But Bozak offers more relief. So I agree Bozak and a third (but it was opening night it could be a second, LOL) for Smith, just to keep the rosters even.
Let me add, that O'Reilly trade looked REALLY good for Sabres until Binnington started in goal.
It looked like Buffalo was going to have 2 lottery picks until Jan 4th 2019.
Now I need to find another team with which to trade who wants to move cap, as Kessel and Bozak puts the Sabres OVER the cap. LOL.

Yes but understand there is a difference with what the leafs did and shouldn’t be used as a comparable because in that case leafs had to pay a team to do a costly buyout for them in a desperate situation. Yes your title suggests desperate times calls for desperate measures I can understand that however strongly disagree that we will see deals like that.
