Murray =/= Nylander
Andersen =/= Nurse

Both PIT and TOR would need to add more.

I was thinking the same thing. both parts of the 3 way trade were rough.

Freddie is considerably better than Murray. Basically the leafs get a worse goalie and an upgrade on D. I think it’s a good deal for Edmonton who desperately needs a goalie. For the Pens it’s be fun to watch Nylander but what’s the point? We aren’t going to contend again with this core of players. The window shut last night when we didn’t win the lottery. It’s time to start planning for the future

Don't think it makes a lot of sense for the Leafs to after a LD anyway.

Nope although larsson is exactly what leafs have been wanting but I don’t want to stir that up again because I really don’t wanna see him go.

That's fair. I think he's probably expendable given the Bear, Bouchard, Benning and Russell, but losing him would be a downgrade. He'd probably get a reasonable haul at the deadline though!

I like your thought process with Jack Johnson to Ottawa. It's one of those where the AAV is higher than the cash being paid so Ottawa might go for it. I just wonder if Hollander is enough of a prospect for them to take on 3 years of Jack Johnson. Might have to sweeten the pot a bit more but the idea is sound.

I also thought Johnson had some kind of trade protection but I see that he does not.

Giving up Greenway for a guy who hasn't stayed healthy the last few years and a lesser player? Not happening.

Part I worry about more than others is this team struggles to defend at times removing only real shut down option just seems very risky. He’s excellent when healthy but he has a back problem. I know that’s not something holland can fix but I do hope he takes more proactive approach trying to get larsson fixed before moving on. I think it’s fair to question if charelli ever made those efforts after learning about how broken JP was forced to play.
