Klingberg is a solid top RHD and Gurianov has fantastic speed that can catch defenses off guard. Paired with the cap savings I see it as a solid package

Nylander outscored him in the playoffs and was a bigger play driver than Marner was. I don't get the Nylander hate on here. Besides that, TO's defence wasn't the reason they lost. Korpisalo was hot and the depth didn't do a damn thing. Maybe that's the problem. Trade Kapanen or Mikheyev and give other guys a shot. I thought Engval was far more impactful than Kapanen was in the playoffs. The big money guys scored but not enough to carry the team. Let's hold those guys accountable.

I'm with you. Marner is too valuable on the ice. Not to mention, his contract hinders Dubas from getting what he is worth. Just keep him and move on from Nylander. Maybe look for a natural 2/3C and a RHD in another move. My candidates for trade include Nylander, Kap, Johnsson, Kerfoot, Anderson and Reilly. Not saying all will be moved, but I would at least explore the market.

I'm in no way bashing Nylander. I just think he'll bring back a better comparable return. Marner might be easier to move next year when his actual salary drops even further than his cap hit.

Klingberg is an app offence type of guy. Just a better version of Barrie. Don't need that. Gurianov is a worse version of Kapanen. Don't need that either.

I wouldn't trade either of them. It's not needed. They need an upgrade over Ceci because he is total trash. Hopefully Sandin and Liljegren take a step and if so then we are better

I could see Dubas not taking away from the core, however, hoping Lily and Sandin are ready to take regular duty out the gate may be a stretch.
