So, elephant in the room, i think when you take stuff into account like contract, flat cap etc marner isn’t getting you Ellis one for one. Ellis doesn’t have any signing bonuses anymore.

I originally had either Gurianov or Hintz coming back the other way but I don't think Dallas is trading either one of those guys almost regardless of the price.

How desperate are the Leafs to shed salary? Take out the Petro signing. Nylander for Klingberg?

I think if you get Ryan Ellis there is zero need to sign Petro. Ellis can be your #1 RHD, and you can target/sign a cheaper 2nd pairing guy to give you more money for other depth in the lineup.
