Toronto would never do that. Dubas would need to be Chia level and drunk AF to pull that trade.

I agree that the value is not strong enough on face value, but it all depends on whether Toronto considers trading Marner in the first place. The thing about the NJD is that they are maybe the only team that A) doesn't have cap issues AND B) can take on any contract in the NHL without any money needing to be retained.

So if Toronto does want to trade Marner, they might consider something similar to this package since they'll gain picks, solid depth players and most importantly cap space.

Actually I would argue that's too MUCH for Marner. Toronto has to make some changes because of the flat cap and Marner makes almost 11 million against the cap while getting paid like $14 million in signing bonuses. There's very few (if any) teams that can absorb that contract in the current league situation.
