In: Rakell, Marner, Liljegren, Brown, Edmundson, Soucy
Out: Forsberg, Ekholm, Sissons, Duchene, Hamhuis, Weber
For the offense -- I like the idea of adding Rakell and Marner, but not at the price of Forsberg. I think the Rakell deal may be an overpay by adding Sissons, but some negotiating could get a deal done there. With Sissons gone, the Preds center depth will be a weakness again after losing Duchene, Sissons, and Bonino within a year of each other. I really like the addition of Brown from OTT though and think he could be a really good option for NSH if he is available. I would prefer to get him without losing Duchene -- rolling a Brown - Duchene - Marner 2nd line could be solid.
For the defense -- I like the contract and term on Edmundson. I think Soucy stays in MIN and gets a little more money out of it, but I'd be fine with that. That frees up the 3rd LD spot for Davies or Farrance, which I really think one of them will take next season. I love getting Liljegren back in any trade with TOR as he is young and is a definite boost to NSH's RHD depth.
Overall, most of the deals and contracts are fair, but it's just a matter of preference as to whether you want to trade certain players -- specifically Forsberg, Sissons, or Duchene. But in order to get something, you've got to give something. All in all, this is a solid team that should be a playoff team. The only question marks I see are whether Tolvanen can be 2LW right now and Turris turning back into a 2C, but Marner should be able to help them both reach their potential I think.
