Take out Texier and Tkachuk, insert Johnny Gaudreau. Althought I have to admit, Tkachuk would look filthy on Columbus

I dunno, i'd trade Korp, he's literally been a below average goalie for 5 years until the play in started and probably isnt actually near as good as this hot streak. you should strike while that iron is hot

Hot take, goqlies take forever to develop. 26 makes sense for him entering his prime

Korpisalo just played the best game in NHL history and you want to trade him?

except he didnt really develop, he went from a 'eh, that's ok' season to full on god mode for 6 games just this year. there also hasnt been a development curve at all and it looks random as hell.
He might be this good or even just like a 920 guy but 6 games isnt a great measure of abilities

yeah, because gm's and fans freak out over one game and would probably trade for more than he is worth based on it and Elvis is better

that was 5 years ago and he has 3 seasons of 905 goaltending or worse between that one and the just fine 911 he had in the season this year. for comparison freddy andersen was terrible and everyone wants to trade him because he put up a 909 this year

You realize Korpisalo was going to the all star game (like actually was supposed to be there and had to be replaced) this year before he got hurt right? He’s been fantastic all year, this isn’t new, it’s just reached a god tier level

He could, and this is why Merzlikins wont be traded yet. Regardless of his true skill, a hot goalie is a massive decider in the playoffs.

So, lets say he had a very gold year despite his numbers and then an insane 6 game run.
Is that 40ish games enough for anyone to 100% go all in on him being a super crazy amazing starter gping forward? They shouldn't.
Im not trying to take anything away from the guy, but players, especially goalies, go on crazy hot streaks and are never that guy again.
Give him a little longer a look before you build a throne is what im getting at

sure, neither should be traded and Columbus doesnt have a reason to move either.
I just think, if they were to move one for some reason you could probably get a hilarious over pay for korp right about now

I think it's the "and" that pushed this over the limit to self-parody. Korpisalo isn't the only Blue Jacket who set an NHL record this afternoon and evening, y'know.

I know that’s a horrible trade but what I’m saying is tkachuks cost will be more than any team is will to pay

And to the flames neither werenski or jones get you tkachuk unless you add a lot. Columbus won’t be willing to pay what it costs to get tkachuk

Over 25% of #1 goaltenders are all-stars. I don't think it's quite the accomplishment a lot of people make it out to be. Korpi has been great almost all season but GMs probably don't care that he's an all-star when figuring out value.
