Idk what makes you think moving up 4 spots costs a top 5 prospect, but for reference

Last year Arizona moved up from 14 to 11, and it cost a second round pick (#45 OA)

So there is your starting point for value atleast

Jets might be welling to do that if Lundell isn’t there at 10 ( likely going 9 to MIN )

Last year, PHI traded the 11th OA for the 14th OA + 45th OA to ARI
You have your value there

That’s kinda starting point I was thinking I don’t have one to offer so I’m curious if their is a reasonable need on the team could look into filling instead perhaps?

I'm curious what you're trying top move up for?

are you trying to jump Carolina for Askarov?

Haha you can thank Toronto for this problem. They managed to not only cause this but made it almost impossible to make realistic trades with involving anyone making over 4 million who isn’t a superstar. Now everyone is a cap dump and expects first round picks. Thanks leafs

unless the oilers have targeted a player they must have, I don't see them giving up anything to move up nor would I see the jets wanting anyone else beside AA, but that's a bad move for the oilers.
This draft is suppose to be super deep

The Jets won't swap firsts for a bunch of stuff they don't need.

Would like to know what type of return they would be interested in?

Do have a target and unfortunately it’s the same one Carolina seems to be wanting.... thanks to leafs they have 13 oilers are at 14 so exploring if any options to sneak past them. I know oilers can use wingers and centre options but I’d be heavy after goaltending with this move. Behind a so-so kosk there’s a huge gap with nothing more than a glimmer of hope maybe in 4-5 years.

It's too hard to speculate on. I think there is a 99.9% chance the Jets keep the pick. The only way I see them moving it is if the player they want at 10 is gone and they are supremely confident they can get their second choice at 15. Then it might cost like a 2nd to swap.

Ya I want to offer a second that seems fair I’d even toss a 3rd just out of respect that it is a deeper class and the talent level is abit more than normal but don’t have those picks to play with so would be willing to spice it up in a different way just not sure how.

Seeing that you don’t have a 2nd, I would do something like 10 for 14 and Jp. Other than that, I don’t see anything else being of interest to the jets. Maybe we can involve a 3rd team like Nashville and make a deal like: the jest get 14 and the NJ 2nd, NSH gets athanasiou, and edm gets 10 and a nsh 3rd

I’m definitely not interested in including jp over 4 spot difference not to be rude or anything just too much. If I could get my hands on a mid second and since this is a deeper draft than normal I’d even be willing to try and get a third as a throw in would that be fair?

Yeah that’s fair, but considering you don’t have one rn, I offered Jp

Ya I’m just not down for including jp over 4 spots I think his value on this site is skewed a lot more than in reality. Holland’s ask was a first and prospect if want him otherwise sticks with Edmonton if that changes in the future so be it but for now I agree on standing firm on the ask with the real intention to bring back. He just fits the teams need extremely well and very interested in what he’s capable of without broken hips and a horrendous coach and time with Conner. They actually did rather well in a very small sample size. Until news breaks that it just isn’t happening think it’s going to be really difficult to pry him from oilers.

I'm not sure I see the point. Askarov likely won't be impacting the NHL team for 4 or 5 years, at which point McDavid will be in his late 20's. Better to take a forward who will arrive in 2-3 years IMO. Holland had the right idea last year when he drafted 20-year-old KHL starter Konovalov, as he'll be here next year.

Fair enough who do you have your eye on? Quinn is my winger of choice but to land him I wouldn’t be surprised need to do something like this as well.
