One of my favorite trades I have seen so far. As a Devils fan, I think Severson is a liability in the D-Zone. Most people think he is a great player anyway. In terms of value, it's pretty equal and the trade makes sense for both teams.

You’re a Devils fan. That was the key word. The value is not equal in the slightest. If Laine can round out his consistency, he could be a Rocket Richard trophy threat. Even if it was, the Jets would not let go of their fan favourite so easily.

Yeah but people act like he can fix his consistency with no problem. People have been saying this same exact thing since he came into the league and it hasn't happened nor is there reason to expect it to happen. As of right now, this trade is fairly equivalent in value.
