What’s the rationale for Detroit to do that? Bjugstad is owed more actual dollars and Rasmussen will be 3C next year they are also going to try Fabbri at C.

I would love to get out of the Horny contract. I do believe JJ, Bjugstad, and Murray will all be gone no doubt. you're bringing in a bunch of grit and it's not worked before ==JJ/gudbranson/reaves.... Kovy is old. no need for him.

He would be a powerplay specialist, just like he is in Washington. He can help pens with that and can be placed on third line too

Jack Johnson has 3 years left on his deal and even though it isn't a huge cap hit, it's a difficult trade to make. I guess packaging Murray and a 4th is a good idea, but I don't think it nets you Foligno, Stalock and a 2nd. Maybe change the pitt pick to a 3rd and remove any of Mini's picks.

Agreed. I would take McCann for Lowry straight up, but I wouldn't give up a 2nd and I don't really care about the other pieces

The only reason I see the Jets downgrading like that is if Lowry it's going to be too extensive to re-sign. Even then the Jets would probably keep him until at least the TDL.

He wouldn’t get top 6 minutes and it still doesn’t make sense financially considering his contract is backloaded. What do you realistically think he would get at TDL?

Flipping a player because he didn't work out isn't a selling point. Flipping players its like offer sheeting players on this site it may sound good but it just doesn't happen all that much. If you think he do well on the second line so add in a conditional pick. If he resigns and he is in Detroit's top 6 scoring forwards only. The 6th stays a 6th if not the 6th becomes a 2nd.

I don't really see it as downgrading for the jets. McCann was pretty good in Pitt this season and has more upside then Lowry. I think the jets can afford to move on from Lowry and allow Copp to take his role. They would miss his physicality but Im hoping the jets can trade or add some physicality on the back end

Lowry sucks ass, if they resign him it'll be just more of the same which is one of the most unproductive bottom sixes in the league, should of moved on from him long ago.

Unfortunately, the Jets and PoMo LOVE Lowry and he is great defensively. So, unless he prices himself out, I don't see the Jets moving him. But more offense would sure be nice. Confused

I don't agree on McCann, but you could very well be right.

Winnipeg can't afford to take Bjugstad as a cap dump without some serious compensation and even then would probably say no.

Hornqvist has a cap hit of, and is owed, $5.3 million for three more years. He's 33, and you're asking a rebuilding team for the 67th overall pick in this draft for him. No, thanks.

Its almost their biggest problem imo, their love of a 4th line player that isn't a 3rd line player but gets 14+ minutes of ice time a game but is an offensive black hole, had a nice playin but if he could produce like that in the regular season they'd be sitting where Dallas is right now, nothing will change with this team until Lowry is on the 4th line or gone.

There's a good chance he'll struggle or get injured and nobody will want him at deadline leaving Detroit with nothing but a wasted 4th rd pick. Detroit has plenty of young guys looking for opportunity so you'll have to pay Detroit a good asset to take him otherwise they're not interested

their problem isn't in finding grit in players it's to change the players they have to actually play with an edge. They have to be willing to play nasty and their not. And other teams know that of them.
They have to stop being nice.

agree again. another tanev wouldn't hurt + more offense = Craig Smith.
