I originally planned on 7x6.5 but the cap got tricky. I think anywhere between those two figures is fair.

It can be fair but it has to be enough to leave a top team in a tax free state

No doubt. I suppose I'm mainly looking at it from a standpoint that TB cannot match a figure higher than a certain mark, say it might be 5.5.

Rangers probably would think hard on the trade but say no. Fox, Trouba, and ADA are all right handed and the need on defense is left side.

Nashville has a million centers and montour just adds to the seattle expansion dilemma.

Rangers say no in a heartbeat, no need for RD. They could ditch strome and offer sheet Cirelli themselves

no chance of the Ranger's helping you out and getting nothing in return.
Buch AND your 3rd so you can O/S and all we get is a tired RD which we don't need and a meh prospect....

if you want your 3rd back, it comes at the price of taking Smith or Staal (neither will probably waive for Buffalo...) so this doesn't work.

Better off doing 5 years, since thats the main factor in determining compensation. If you think hes worth a 1,2,and 3, just offer 5/35

Think the value on the Buch-RR is fair, but the Rangers decline b/c they have no need for Risto. Fox, Trouba and TDA all being RHD, and Nils Lundkvist,(another RHD likely arriving in 21-22 ), they need LHD. TDA could even end up being traded this offseason because of that.
