ya the trade partners could swap around for sure. These are both 2 potential/realistic options, but there are a few other teams who could fit that mold also.

Ya defensive defenseman. Not a big ticket name like the Leafs ultimately need but it would definitely help them.

Didn't say the team is much better. Just said what I think will happen. I would say Kap and Demelo are comparable in terms of how effective they are at their positions. So it is swapping one for the other basically.

Rielly is elite and Muzzin is top pair as well. They need support guys for them.

You will highly regret that much salary for Demelo. Not dynamic enough to warrant that much $$. He is a fine bottom pair guy on a good team, but not a guy you pay more than $2.5 million for. Not a hitter, not a scorer, etc. Just kind of exists out there. Fine piece to have, just not one you pay $3.75 million for.

In other news, Sharks accept this deal. Probably about right in terms of overall value and fills a definite need on the 2nd line at RW. Good trade.

Value here is pretty good, we probably accept.

Having watched him come up in SJ, I was thrilled to see him go in the Karlsson deal simply because Deboer used him far too much. His play looks to have improved with more minutes in Ottawa, but still someone that I would only bring in if the dollars were right. Maybe layer on term at a low AAV (similar to what SJ did with Simek) to bring total $$ up.
