AA isn't worth two 2nds. Even if he was, rebuilding teams don't trade away 2nd round picks.

Jets fans are going to be mad but at the same time I don’t see Edmonton agreeing to do that. Leaves the blueline with very little experience and although promising pieces coming I do credit both larsson and russell as guys that stabilize the blue line so youth can actually succeed. I don’t think we can actually afford to let both go I personally don’t know if we can afford to loose one based on that play in but won’t put a lot of judgement on those 4 games. 2 seconds for AA ya that’s not likely odds are he doesn’t receive qualify offer and oilers take the gamble and offer him a lower deal as a ufa or let walk. That just didn’t work out as planned. If your going to send out kosk and sign Lehner and smith any chance you can swap them haha it just hurts seeing smith in that starters spot.

I don't see Detroit trading a 2nd at all. If they do it won't be on a 32yr old goalie.

Ehlers is a great winger. With a great contract. But the jets have other great wingers and could survive his loss. Especially with Laine wanting to play with Puljujarvi again and endorsing him in this deal as another great winger, which he may well be. As for losing Russel and Larrson. We were without Larrson for awhile and Bear took his spot, Bouchard will also do that this year, so he's expensive for 3rd pairing, Benning will be fine there.. Russel was a 4.0mil healthy scratch going down the stretch.. we need their salary, and their spots for Bouchard and Broberg to develop. Bouchard was dominant in the AHL the second half. Broberg is draft plus 1 year against men. With Jones, leggesen, samorukov, and Poolman in the trade return, we will be fine on D. Maybe better as Bouchard and Broberg develop.

As for the AA trade. He is still young, room to improve and has long term value. His speed alone is enticing as he can explode and create offence any given moment. And as you can see, I asked for the later of their picks in each of the years. They won't be that great. Almost 3rd rounders. Low chance of picking anyone who will develop into anyone nearly as talented as AA who is still very young.
Koskinen trade to Detroit... it's a hope and prayer. Doesn't really matter where he goes. Just dumping his contract and salary. I just picked Detroit because of hollands history, they need a goalie, koskinen is better than anyone they have and he's only 32, most goalies don't hit their peak until 30 and many play until 38+
-signing smith... I went through all the UFA and couldn't see anyone better that would sign for under 2 mil. We just need a cheap, legit backup

Defense is worse, bottom six is no better. PK is worse.

I like Ehlers, but he isn't solving all the Oilers problems all by himself.

He's not changing oilers by himself. Just giving edmonton 2 really dominant lines. Possibly best 2 lines in hockey. Lehner will make up the biggest amount of improvement. He will outright steal 4-5 games above koskinen in a year alone, and give them a better chance on another 8-10. Larrson hits ok and tries hard, but Bouchard is taking his spot this year. Larrson isn't that much ahead of Benning if at all. What he gains defending he loses more in puck handling and passing. Plus he's a negative guy. Very pessimistic attitude. Russel is older and does more off ice with developing Young d, but jones is pretty close to his level on ice already. Broberg or samorukov will probably pass him in skill level within a couple months ice time. Overall Broberg and Bouchard are better than Larrson Russel. And if we keep them we lose someone else in entry draft next year.

The Jets wouldn't consider it. One year of Larsson, a cap dump, a malcontent and a 3rd doesn't get you near Ehlers in value.

Lehner isn't that much better than Koskinen, and I'm willing to bet that whatever improvement Lehner brings over Koskinen Smith will give back by virtue of being a year more finished.

Lehner was .920 this year, Koskinen was .917. Lehner is inconsistent year over year and .920 is a good year, so you may have downgraded your starter next year too.

Three experienced NHL coaches vehemently disagree. LMAO.
