Description
If Barzal receives an offersheet maybe we get this through. Otherwise islanders match.

Again not really my cup of tea. But if you are adding a Dman you might as well go big.

I would keep Johnsson or Kerfoot over Kapanen. Kapanen is such a disappointment.

I like what kappy brings. He certainly didn’t have a good play in but 5 games is a short sample after a long break.

What does he bring though? Speed? It's so much fun watching him fly up the wing and then either blast a shot at a bad angle or stop and look to the middle of the ice before dumping the puck in the corner and then failing to be the high forward when a defenceman pinches.

He’s been working the curl backs... maybe too often like on the breakaways lol. He plays chippy gets under skin and will drop the mitts.

Leafs have no right hand depth after kappy. Lh wingers (kerfoot is much more a winger than a centre) we have plenty of.

The only way that I can see the Kings trading back Toronto's 3rd is if Toronto sends Clifford's rights back in the trade. It appears from your roster that you don't intend to re-sign Clifford, so throw in his rights and I think the Kings would do it.

Yup no issue with that. Figured a 220 2nd for a 2021 3rd and 4th would be close to value. To be honest I’ve noticed that GM’s are fairly friendly with small moves like this.

I am not as concerned over what hand they shoot as others. I want players that win and Kapanen was nothing in the playoffs. He dropped the mitts what twice? And now he's a folklore hero for it. Where was the fire this round? He was the most disappointing player in the playoffs. Everyone likes to talk about defence (does need more depth but wasn't the problem in the series) and the usuals start **** talking Nylander (4 points in the series) and there are a lot of idiots calling for Rielly's head but the depth was nothing. None of them go to the net and Kapanen specifically blew a tonne of high forward assignments that resulted in goals against.

Again... it was 5 games after a long break. Small samples.

Kappy scores a lot of important goals at key times. Personally I like him. I like Johnsson too, don’t get me wrong. But both he and Mikheyev are not as good on the right wing.

Lh wingers we have a ton, need to make room on the roster.

But hey if you want to move kappy and keep Johnsson, I’m fine with that. I still think he is the better player slightly.

Johnsson played RW and looked fine doing it. He is way more consistent than Kapanen and for some reason, Kap gets all the love. Move him and get a better return and then keep Johnsson or maybe move both because Kerfoot is more valuable than either.

Kap gets all the cap friendly love. Do you seriously think we know more than nhl scouts? They know the score.

My only issue with this is the roster size and moving Dermott.
I'd rather sign him his QO offer and then give a bigger deal next year, similar to Petterrsson did with Penguins.

Would love to keep Dermott to if he was willing to do that. Both this agm an the other I did tonight are just for fun... I’ve got multiple problems with them lol.

None of these players are worth a second on their own so all 3 of them as a cap dump dont equal 2 2nds

I do not. I think we are all a bunch of dummies. With that said I have the unpopular opinion that Kapanen is completely overrated and should be moved while everyone still thinks he is going to be a 30 goal scoring 60 point top 6 winner. I just don't think he's going to be that. I was hoping he would be laying big hits in the post season and at least drawing penalties but he did nothing of consequence the whole series. Yes a 5 game sample size is small but it's the playoffs. You need guys to rise to the occasion at least once and he didn't. At all.

I disagree... cap dumps? Umm no. I just didn’t bother getting into seperate trades. I would say all 3 bring in roughly that value. It certainly does depend on the market this off season.
