I like the look of this team. Thoughts?

Team is under cap with 22 players. Just added extra guys to show depth. I believe Korshkov won't be around next year, so I didn't add him.

Leafs should be either getting rid of big contracts or going after good contracts.

Not another 7.5 mil contract

Top RHD signed for 5 years. Young guy. They need to redistribute money from their forward group to their defence. I doubt they get rid of their top 4 forwards, so I got rid of a lot of money from guys outside that and turned it into Ekblad.

If you go after Ekblad you should consider getting rid of Nylander or Marner.

It’s always good to have cap space on deck just Incase the ones with ELC asks for some heavy contracts ( Mikheyev Robertson Liljgeren )

Lily is traded in this AGM.

But I totally get that. They said in their presser today that they more than likely won't trade one of their top 4. I assume that Nylander would be the first one they look at moving. This agm was made to see if a top d man could be added, without losing him.

Go watch the presser from today. Mathews won't be traded. Tavares won't be traded. Marner is highly highly unlikely. Nylander is a maybe but doubtful. This is my opinion from it.

That's not enough for Ekblad. Florida has 0 reason to trade him but if they do it would be to shore up defensively (hence trading Ekblad is counterproductive) and down the middle. Value wise you are looking at Nylander and a mid-level piece (Johnsson, Dermott, 2nd etc). Your above offer just isn't good enough

Florida is cutting budget.

This package is:
Blue chip dman prosepct
Top 6 winger
1st round pick.

Leaf fans won't be happy with loosing Sandin. It may or not be enough but it is a damn good package.

Too much IMO. Sandin isn't a piece we should be moving. I rather give them Nylander.

It's a good package for many players but not a teams best D. Would you trade Morgan Rielly for Chase Priskie, Brett Connolly, and Floridas 2021 1st?
