Not really close at all.

The cap difference between Eichel and Laff over the first 3 years of the deal is 27 mil. We know that 6 mil in cap space = a 1st from the Marleau deal. So this really comes out to Eichel for Laff + 4 1st rounders. When you understand it that way, it's pretty ridiculous.

That wouldn't even get you Jack Eichel let alone an offer that includes Oloffson. LOL

You’re forgetting that Lafreniere will only be $925k for the next 3 years which is substantial and allows us tremendous cap flexibility that we currently don’t have at the moment to sign all of our guys anyway. Plus with the marketing emails and talk surrounding finally have the 1st overall pick I really can’t see them moving it. Literally have gotten several emails about it and securing season tickets and what not.

2. Plus I don’t get why you’d even wanna get rid of Eichel. Just get him some wingers. Take one at 8th, find a way to move Ristolainen and his cap hit and sign Hoffman or Dadonov and get some help. If no internal options ready make a play for a short term center upgrade like Stepan to ease Cozens in and surround the guys with more depth and boom I guarantee you guys are very close to the playoffs.

That’s.... not how that works. You don’t have to want the deal but that’s a super disingenuous way of getting there. 6M for what Marleau brings vs 10M for what Eichel brings is not the same. And the fact that you think so is so incredibly laughable. I guess the only way to trade Zib is by attaching a first to him for someone to take him. That is literally your logic here.
