Agreed, the 1st kills this deal.

Neither team should imo. NSH needs the 1st and Columbus doesn’t exactly have a ton of cap room. Wennberg is already likely gone to a buyout at 500k to fit Anderson. I’m not 100% sure on Turris’s buyout but I think it’s like 2 mil.

i dont get it tho. How come Shattenkirk's buyout was 6 mill but guys like Wennberg and Maata have a buyout at like 500k

Haven't really looked into how it works but likely has to do with signing bonuses

It depends on the age of when the contract was signed. Under 26 is 1/3 of the contract and over 26 is 2/3. Both are decided by double the length of the contract.
So it’s total salary (the remaining contract) 1/3 or 2/3s of it depending on when it was signed / double the years. Idk how they determine the cap hit on the team.

I don't see how Nutivaara is worth the 11th pick in a deep draft. Also, is your plan to protect 8 skaters instead of 7-3-1 in the up coming expansion draft? I know the majority of Columbus fans seem to still be in love with Josh Anderson so I am not sure how they would take this.

If I'm the Blue Jackets, I take this trade and bury Turris in the minors at $4.925 million per year instead of $6 million and hope Seattle takes him in the expansion draft.

never said nuti was worth the 11th. nuti and Anderson are reasonable worth a second round pick each right now and Wennberg is a MUCH better contract than Turris

From the Jackets' perspective, it's workable.

From the Preds' perspective, no thanks. Adding Nuti might be of interest, but Turris is not so horrible that it's worth it to give up any 1st, let alone the 11th overall, primarily just to get rid of him.
