Description
Give me an idea of what it would cost to get Cirelli. Rangers could offer sheet but I'd like to know what it would take via trade. Obviously you guys don't want to add a bunch of cap so I'd assume you want picks and young, cost controlled guys. Assets like that which are off limits: #1 Overall, Kakko, Chytil, Fox, Shesty and K. Miller. I'd probably add Lundkvist to that too but we have organizationl depth at RHD, so I'd at least ponder it...

Chances are it takes at least one of the guys you listened as off limits. You gotta best other teams offers and without offering what you see as "off limits" your offer is mediocre at best

Never made an offer dawg...

Propects like Kravtsov, Robertson, Jones, Henriksson, Aaltonen, and Andersson are all availbale including all picks besides #1 overall. Plenty of pieces to build a trade around...

Exactly. Why would you want to send them Smith, even at 50% retention, if they're in cap trouble?

I think Fox for Cirelli 1-for-1 could be a fun idea.

That being said, as long as we make a net-negative salary trade, I'd want something around Buchnevich and (maybe) Lundkvist.

Fox is a no go...

Alright so here’s my thing. Buch and Cirelli have almost exactly the same point production and possession metrics. Obviously Cirelli is much better defensively and a year or two (? can’t rember off hand) younger. I personally think 1 for 1 is not fair to TBL for those reasons but adding a prospect of Lundkvist’s caliber skews things to Tampa quite a bit. Now a lesser, although still good, d prospect like Robertson or Jones I’m good with. Or a forward prospect like Pajuniemi or Henriksson and a mid round pick...

From my perspective a fair trade salary aside:

Cirelli

for

Buch, Henriksson, and a 3rd or 4th round pick

Lemme know what you think...

& yet as I said, other teams are going to make better offers. Those guys are likely B+ to C- range of prospect, it's going to take more than that to get Cirelli. Colorado has guys that can easily beat that kind of package.. Kaut, Bowers, Timmins, Byram, etc. and any of those players will beat the guys that you just listed as available. So if you want him, you have to out bud other teams. Which would start with a A graded prospect or young NHL ready roster player, which were the guys you listed as "not available". If you want good players you have to give up something good. Teams won't just give you them because you want them.

Kravtsov is a top prospect in the league. Projects to be 50+ point winger floor. Lundkvist is a top 4 lock, with top 2 potential.

And why exactly do you think teams will be lining up to trade away top prospects? Can’t see COL moving any of those guys for Cirelli. They all have a higher celeing (with the exception of Timmons). Those are guys you give up for Point not Cirelli. If that’s how highly you value this guy then he’s probably going to end up getting offersheeted...

That's highly debatable. You also said "I'd probably add Lundkvist to that list" .. so now you're just contradicting yourself
