So at the cost of Gudas, the leafs will have to let Dermott and Mikheyev walk? Idk. I prefer soup and Dermott.

Gudas would be a good signing, complementing the finesse play of Rielly, Sandin, Liljegren with grit and toughness

As a Flyers fan, I will say he'd be a solid second pairing guy if given a puck moving d man as his partner. Dermott-Gudas would be solid probably.

I think Gudas would be a solid signing. When all these idiots try to put Clifford on right defense, Gudas is literally that except it’s actually his position.

Why are people so high on Watson though, like yeah he’s a solid sandpapery bottom 6 guy but Johnsson can get 20 goals, Watson has never even got 20 points. Nashville would have to add more coming back imo

I also wouldn’t keep Clifford, that will cost you a 2nd so it’s just not worth it. Sign another Clifford/Watson type of player out of free agency if you must. Zac Rinaldo is not terrible as a 13th forward that slots into your lineup against physical teams but sits out when skill is required.

Gudas on the 1st or 2nd pairing would be a liability, 3rd pairing is where he is best suited for now. Now if this was the Gudas of 5 years ago than he could take a top pairing role

Disagree. Poor possession player and not particualrly great defensive awareness. Grit and jam doesn't mean good defense. He was pretty good in Philly's system though so who knows...

This would be good for the Leafs I think. Problem is finding that other top 4 righty IMO.

Is he the guy though? I don't see him filling that spot, maybe he steps in for Hall or Dermott and improves them in that spot...

I don't see the Leafs adding more than one defensemen this off season. The right side will most likely be X, Holl, Lehtonen. I do believe Dermott will be dealt

I do think thats a good start, I just don't think its a huge difference maker if its the only blue line addition
