COL trade is interesting.
I still feel like a 1st is a bit too steep.

Well that all depends if Timmins can stay healthy. Taking him on as an asset in a trade with nylander is risky.

Timmins doesn’t have an issue staying healthy, he did suffer a concussion in the 2018 OHL playoffs (28 months ago) but has been 100% good to go since the first round of the playoffs last season

Detroit declines, you can keep kerfoot and we'll keep our picks. Dermott is ok, but not worth the picks

He missed a year to recover from one injury.
Suffering one long term injury isn’t a problem of “staying healthy problem”. Suffering multiple different injuries is an injury problem (kinda like Stamkos as of late - every 4 months seems to be another lower body issue - or Nolan Patrick and his chronic migraines)

He suffered a concussion, took 14 months to be 100% and has been 100%, full contact for over a year now.

There’s been tons of serious injuries that players have recovered from and never looked back. McDavids knee, Crosby concussions, Erik Karlssons torn Achilles etc

So... 14 months off for a concussion... how long for the next?

Did you read what your original message said?
You said “if Timmins can stay healthy”. The guy doesn’t have a persistent knee problem or chronic back issues and isn’t suffering multiple injuries in high frequency.
He took a dirty head shot and suffered one concussion.

You do know what the difference is between an injury prone player and a player who suffered one serious injury is right?

Yes if he can stay healthy, if he comes to Toronto and gets time in the nhl (since he only has 2 nhl games) and gets his head rattled again it could be a while before comes back... or not at all.

If someone took a hammer and broke your hand, could I say you have problems staying healthy? Lol

Timmins took an illegal check to the head and suffered a concussion because of it. If you exposed 100 NHLers to a similar hit, probably 50-65 of them would have also suffered the same concussion.

Timmins doesn’t have an injury problem. He was just victim to an illegal hit to the head and suffered a concussion no different than any other NHLer would have experienced.

Erik Karlsson had his Achilles stepped on by a skate and severed. How often do you hear people say “ oh man, Karlsson should slow down, could re-tear that Achilles again”? Never. You heal back to 100% and move on. In his case, they were so confident in his health, he got an 8yr 92mil deal lol

Unfortunately that’s not how concussions work. I like Timmins a lot. I hope he doesn’t have any more issues.

Good luck with that second line scoring. Kapanen does not have the vision or scoring touch to play top six. I like Kapanen alot but I think it's clear after this season that he can't replace Marner or Nylander.

That's a very solid trade for both TML and COL. Getting two NHL-ready players on ELC's in positions of need would be huge for Toronto. And Avs get a big forward upgrade.
