It really isn't. The difference between Holl and Manson is not Mikheyev. Also wouldn't downgrade from a 2nd to a 4th for Deslauriers.

Nah I don’t think so. Thinking Holl has more value than Manson is absurd. You’re not getting rid of a top prospect or top player. You need depth ( Deslauriers ) and a grinder ( Deslauriers ).

Leafs need these things.
Leafs fans want flashly big name players for basically no expensive.

We’re not asking for Kapanen, Marner, or Nylander who you all drool over so you get to keep them.

This isn’t an overpay. You say Nylander for Manson is an overpay. You say Manson for Liljgeren and Kapanen is an overpay. You think Andreas Johnnson and Travis Dermott can get you a top 4 defender. Well it doesn’t.

The Leafs FWD depth is not really an issue, and even if it was, Deslauriers really wouldn't help that. He can punch things, but he's not so great at hockey. He's not worth downgrading from a 2nd to a 4th.

Holl put up twice the points Manson did, was a +18 to Manson -10, stayed healthy all season and is half the cost lol

Let's be real here, the +/- argument (especially considering the 50 goal gap in terms of differential between the two teams) is pretty suspect, but they had quite comparable defensive metrics while being used in pretty similar contexts (QoC, QoT, DZ start ratio). Then with the offensive output and dollar value like you mentioned, as well as an extra year on Holl's deal... The value gap is not very big.

I'd rather keep Holl and Mikheyev.
If we were getting the Manson from 3 years ago then I would have considered this but not now.

Not bad. It's risky as mikheyev was projected at 50 points before the injury. Still to get Manson and a tough guy it could work
