@A_K @STLBlues17 just through this together quick.

No petro, could maybe be done but would involve moving steen and Bortuzzo ( I don’t think they would move him) but if they wanted to Toronto May have intrest)

Blues are also in cap trouble so why would they do this?

They are better off keeping Kyrou.

This was after talking to some blues fans. They certainly aren’t in trouble. Keeping petro would be difficult.

Unless there's some suprising upset, I'm sure the Blues will do everything they can to resign him. Not every high caliber player is demanding 11M+ and as their captain, I'm sure Petro wants to stay.

I agree, that Faulk signing was a huge mistake. Now with sandella and Faulk there is really not a lot of room for petro. Roster and cap wise.

If the angle is that the coach and kyrou don't vibe, this would be a good return for the Blues imo. Both guys are XD eligible. Kyrou would be a fit with how the Leafs like to play. I'd play kap with perron and ROR to provide some more speed on that line (where I think kyrou should get a look next yr). Might have to bridge Dunn 3mx2 to fill out to 23 guys but with no Pietrangelo the cap def works w that trade.

I have no idea what Armstrong was thinking when he gave Faulk that contract, but he will regret it for the rest of his career even if they resign Petro

I didn’t fill out the scratches. I have a feeling not many teams will be carrying 23 with the flat cap.

On the other hand, we used to say this about Berglund, Sobotka, Lehtera and they all disappeared - and backes and Brouwer were let go when they could've signed regrettable contracts - so Armstrong might be able to fix it.

Hopefully, but it all depends on Petro at this point, not Armstrong. I think Petro will sign a one or two year affordable deal if they get past the 2nd round.

That would be awesome. I wish I had more facts about the Petro situation bc given what we can tell from the other recent signings it really seems like Armstrong realized they were never gonna find middle ground. At this point hes got the whole team built for next year and unless he knows something we don't, he is gonna have to make cap room with really limited options.

While I’d love Kapanen, I don’t see why we’d trade a guy on his ELC with potentially a higher ceiling
