Chicago for sure say's no. Neal Pionk is not that great. This Tyson Barrie signing seem's like a big overpayment. He's shown in Toronto that he is a very one dimensional defender. Edmundson is a great signing though, he would perfect at that cap hit.

Pionk, as a D, got more points than Strome...not sure what you mean...lol

Far too much coming from Winnipeg for Strome. The Jets would say no.

You don't think the 13 more games played was a factor? Also, That the Hawks management flubbed the 2nd worst move I've ever seen them make and play Strome at winger for another 17 games? 30 games is a huge delta for 7 points. Strome scored 80 points in 95 games as a Hawk centerman.

You missed the key point here...Pionk is a D...not a top 6 F....You also said that Pionk wasn't that great...he was 11th in scoring for Defensemen...

As much as I would love to see the hawks deal happen, the value is not there. Strome is a young C coming off his best season and coming into his own. THe guy is good and worth more than Pionk and definitely no pick coming the jets way.
I think Barrie will be looking for a long term deal as well. He's earned it IMO (take last season out of the conversation)
Love the Cernak O/S

I've seen him as low as 83, and a good bit in the 50-70 range, and his average (according to Colin Cudmore's consensus list) is 24th, he's a DFD (who's out for a lot more goals against than most of his team) that put up a lot of points so people think he's good, but really he just gets those points by tossing pucks out of the zone as soon as he touches the puck, and hoping his forwards can win a race which leads to a turnover more frequently than a breakaway, and will lead to more turnovers once he gets to the NHL (and it gives the opponents a free rush chance back which is more dangerous than a chance in the zone) and he's not particularly good getting pucks and winning puck battles, and as i said earlier he's not that good with the puck on his stick

I've actually seen him drop a bit. Typically still a 1st rounder, but there are some out there that think he'll be mostly just a physical Dman. That his lack of offensive talent (~50% PP points, but he won't be an NHL caliber PP puck mover) and even defensive gap control will be an issue.
