DET trade : Happens if they're really high on Askarov and know that he wont be taken in the top 12.
LA trade : Theyre one of the most stacked teams in terms of offensive prospects. With the 4th pick, theyll pick Drysdale and add another solid prospect with the mid first. Brook is a solid RHD prospect with great offensive potential.
NYR trade : Laf for Byfield, Broberg and an unprotected 2021 first. They get their so wanted franchise C, their top 4 LHD (would look amazing next to Lundkvist in a near futur) and another first that might be top 10 (who knows).
EDM says no. they are thiiiiinnnn on D and ever thinner on D prospects. I don't think they can afford to move either Bouchard nor Broberg at this point. especially if no D prospect is coming back.

Detroit declines, replace Harris with primeau and poehling then you got a deal
Dont forget that this trade happens if and only if Yzerman wants Askarov and knows he wont be taken in the top 12-14... Getting the player you like while adding another first and a solid prospect is sure great.

How does Yzerman know the other team’s boards? Value wise it’s a weak offer. 14 + 15 + next year or 2022 first for 4OA.
What would make those EDM and DET trades more fair in your opinion?
Imo, the negative value of that Neal contract is worth the first alone. Then Tatar (top 6 winger) and Poehling (a young 3C in the making) are worth Broberg. I forgot to mention it but Tatar would come with an extension of course.

Well, its easy to know what a team might be looking for especially with a goalie on the board. Outside of the top 8, MIN would take a C (Lundell), FLO are set in net, NAS have Saros, WPG have one of the best goalies in the world and CAR have like 6 great goalie prospects

Like I said 14+15+primeau+poehling gets you 4, otherwise rather keep the pick a

Might be interested in and pulling the trigger are two completely different things otherwise hockey analyst would have more accurate mock drafts. How many can say they saw Yzerman go for Seider last year? How many had Turcotte going to Chicago? How many saw Montreal take KK or Arizona with Hayton? If Yzerman views Askarov as a franchise goalie then he will just take him at 4, why risk it over a middle first? If he is that high on him he’d just pull the trigger like he did with Seider.
