that is a lot of pressure on your young draft picks being a 1RHD and 1C.

edit: forgot to add. Canes gladly take Duclair at that price.

yeah but theyre picked top 5 in a deep draft for a reason. Also, no one is asking Drysdale to be a #1D, Chabot is that already, even if he just becomes a solid 2 like Girard, it should be awesome. Also they wont be those right away, this is more of a 3 years from now lineup

Yeah, it would have to be Brannstrom and Norris tbh. And at that point idk if Ottawa would still be listening

That’s 3 1st round picks lol. I personally think it’s fair. Heinola-Thomson would be an awesome 2nd pairing a year from now. Logan Brown would slide right into 2C and that 1st would be a good player

Lol. It's a little disingenuous thinking a 1st round selection from 4 years ago, like Logan Brown means anything. He's simply a nothing special player now. Brown is closer to slotting in as a press boxer than a 2C.

Thomson looks okay, but isn't a sure thing and the Islanders first is late.

I can understand if you have a personal bias against Ehlers that you may think it is fair. But impartially evaluating the deal, it's a big step backwards for Winnipeg that they wouldn't consider.
