I hear Gardiner is available if the Leafs want him back! Sorry I couldn't help it when I saw the teams involved lol. Seriously though if you looking to trade for Pesce using Nylander it's going to be a 1 for 1 deal. Neither team needs to add.

Bringing in bennett seems useless if you have clifford for less.

Yeah he is good offensively but there is just too much money tied up in the big 4 forwards. If you could somehow swing a deal for both Pesce and Gardiner that would be a pretty good D.

Reilly-Pesce
Gardiner-Liljegren
Muzzin-Holl

I just don't see where the money comes from for that.

Yeah, and I mean gardiner isn’t even that bad. His advanced stats are actually really good. He’s just really unlucky and was in a crappy d system before. He was very well liked by his teammates aswell

This is a full roster. You do not need to carry more than one scratch

Gardiner has a 7 team no trade clause. It was rumored those 7 teams were Canadian teams. I would suspect that Toronto is definitely on it.

Bennett is a player who never really got to hit his peak. Giving him a chance in a new environment and the Leafs do need a player who is willing to hit on the third line. Clifford is not enough come playoff time. The last 4 years have been living proof that the Leafs are lacking major grit, and they can't be pushed around anymore.

That is around how much Gudas is going to make.

Get compensation whenever he gets signed or add him in a trade. I love Dermott but Leafs signed Lehtonen to play, and if the Leafs truly upgrade their right side, it pushes Dermott out of the lineup. Signing him would also create a logjam in developing Sandin who is going to be hopefully ready to go by end of next season.

Not really. The way I see it with Dermott is he’s probably going to shift to the right side. He played right side in the Marlies and in juniors. If the Larsson rumours were somehow true, I was running with a

Rielly-Larsson
Muzzin-Dermott
Lehtonen-Gudas lineup.

The second would be a shut down line all the same with Dermott as it was with Holl and Gudas brings that snarl that they need and have already being called “future leaf”

Why would you want Larsson who only has one year remaining on his contract, and then remove Holl from Muzzin when they have played phenomenal together this season. Dermott is not ready to play a shutdown role yet and I cannot see him being ready by next season. In this case, you are just slotting Dermott into a spot that is already filled and is the only Defensive line that has looked good. I would much rather see Pesce (Who has longer-term on his contract, is cheaper, and is a better defenceman) than Larsson on that first line with Rielly, and keep Holl with Muzzin, and the nGudas can bring - like you said - that "snarl" which would be nice to see.

Pesce will also cost you a whole lot more however. Johnsson or Kapanen can get you Johnsson. Nylander has to go for Pesce obviously.
