I think Flames say no, not that the value is off, Tatar would add a lot for our group, but the Flames cannot be moving the few forward prospects we have. With having graduated so many guys in recent years the pipeline is VERY thin, especially on forward. For Pelletier to go, we'd need a young replacement like Poehling instead of the picks.

MTL shouldn’t do any of these moves.
1) PJ isn’t getting traded anyway and it would be stupid to trade Drouin when his value is at his lowest, especially when he’s looking good with KK.
2) RETAINED Tatar is worth about a late 1st and late 2nd. Why would we give up two mid 2nds and a retained Tatar for a first in two years and a a center prospect, something CGY needs and something we have a bunch of. Plus, we are trying to become a contender soon, so the 2 2nds are worth more for us than the first, since the prospects would likely develop quicker.
3) Lehkonen alone is better than Lemieux and we shouldn’t deal Mete at all, that trade just hurts our depth. Plus, NYR don’t want to trade Lemieux anyway.
4) Signing Hall for that long and that much would be a mistake for us. What’s nice about our team is that everyone will be making under 7.8M for the foreseeable except Price (our MVP). We are well-managed cap wise, which allows us to keep our depth, something that is very useful for the playoffs. When he have to re-sign Suzuki and KK for around 5-7M, that Hall contract will be an obstacle.
5) I don’t think we need to offersheet Sergachev with the potential emergeance of Romanov, but if we do, I think 7.8M is more than enough to get it done. I don’t know if Sergachev would even accept an OS by MTL, but if the price is high enough he’ll definitely accept.

Would you trade Mete for a NYR 3rd rounder?
