This clearly favors the Rangers in literally every way.

Why would Tampa move even more of their cap out of their back end when they can hardly afford to resign their defense core as is. The value might be fair, but it doesn't make any sense for Tampa and their cap dispersal.

They have the same contract and they will likely trade a few of their depth forwards to open cap space.

Hey at least we know that there’s been precedence for this. That’s why for as crazy as it seems it isn’t really as ridiculous to believe.

I went with the assumption TB will move bloated contracts like Gourde,Killorn,Palat,Johnson which will deplete their scoring so Kreider could help and they keep Sergachev and Cernak

Im not sure if theyre gonna move anyone like that. I think theyll do everything in their power to keep the team together. A friend of mine that listens to podcasts all the time said that theyre more than likely to move on from Sergachev if anything.

I'd be surprised if they picked old mid 6 forwards instead of young D like Sergy

Thats why Im very keen on trading for Cirelli and Palat. However, I have a feeling they have no plans to move Cirelli, or Palat for that matter since hes a locker room leader.

Miracles do happen... no one thought Toronto would be able to keep Marner.

Toronto, Edmonton, etc... all these teams that built from the forward back wont win. Its just not that type of league where you can run teams out the arena with scoring. The talent pool in the league gets deeper and deeper with every year.

You can say that about pretty much every SC team the last decade... Bruins, Kings, Pens, Hawks, Caps, Blues... they all had center depth and defense.

Oh I totally agree, but its a fine line to walk because good, top notch centers will always require over-payment.

But as Ive said before, I highly value faceoff skills. The ability to win faceoffs on special teams is paramount. Its the main reason why I feel Chytil is not yet ready to make the step up to 2C.

When I think of 2C, I think of Jordan Staal in his prime. Excellent on faceoffs, top notch on both ends of the ice.
