Description
The way Subban has played has made it impossible to trade him as “having potential”. It simply hasn’t been shown wether anyone believes he can get back to how he played. Or at least play more consistent and be a 40 point guy. Seabrook, coming off of surgeries it’s a tough swallow, paying $10M for two years of the 4, it looks real bad, I can understand the Devils wanting more out of this trade. They would do it for the Stanley cup experience, a fresh start for him, hopefully he can come back strong. Still the guy can play D, he seems pissed the way people are talking and I believe he can make something of the last 4 years of this contract. Nothing amazing, but getting it done. Delia is the back up in case Schneider can’t keep it together, even though Blackwood will command most games. Nice to have a third goalie Incase of injuries.
some Cup XP
Gettin Byfuglien! :) Braun, TVR, ceci, Physk. Lots of options for jersey to at least get one guy to fill in for a couple years.

Oh you mean as an overrated dumb defender who's literally worse than 95% of d-man at defense?

I dont think the EDM or CHI trades benefit the devils. The steen deal makes me happy since it A. Brings in another 1st B gets rid of mile wood. C. Steen only has 1 year left. That said, I dont like the idea of helping other teams out of cap troubles unless it means getting a good young roster player back in return.

Don't really get the Wood hate. He's fine in the bottom 6. It's above his pay grade to bring in someone to push him down.

Chaisson trade to create a solid line up through out. Simply fits and need a miles wood type to fill the void. Seabrook brings cup experience to a roster of rookies and sophomores. Stable defensive play, unlike Subban.

If enough salary is held back, I'm sure MTL would entertain a PK deal. He'd be a PP upgrade over Petry, and be a similar d-man than Petry. If NJ can withold enough salary (make him cheaper than Petry), I'm sure something could be done.

Ya a better pick going NJ’s way seems in order, at least a 4th I’m starting to think.

Maybe 6 years ago, sure. Right now that contract is a cap dump. He had 3 surgeries this year and was a healthy scratch multiple times to start the year. He was then placed on LTIR, where he still remains. Its not out of the realm of possibility to think that he may never be a mainstay in the nhl ever again.
