Yeah, I was going to toss Kapanen actually. I think Johnsson and Kapanen could probably switch places in these trades and get the thing the other was meant to

Do you think if the leafs add Bracco and maybe a second or a third. would Edmonton retain Larsson at half salary

The thing is we can’t. We are pretty tight against the cap, so we need as much cap space as we can get.

I wouldn't give up anything for Larsson. He would be so bad in TO. Just another Zaitsev but less capable of skating with the puck.

Edmonton can't really afford it and Bracco is worth nothing so you may as well get the second or third

Just keep telling yourself that. He would be your best right handed defence man.

If he's so good, keep him. I have zero interest in Larsson. The numbers prove he's below average in almost every way.

Then why all of a sudden are Oiler fans trying to unload him to TO for wingers?

Is he though? He's not exactly been forcing the issue? We have Liljegren and Lehtonen who are coming up along with Sandin. Dermott has been miles better than Larsson as well. Why would TO need a castoff from a team who's defence was significantly worse than theirs at 5v5. Not to me to mention he costs a lot.

Believe what you want, I can’t change your mind. Larsson is actually very good defensively not really good offensively but he would be good with Reilly or Muzzin. And all of those guys except one is left handed. You need right handed. Don’t worry about the money. That’s why you would give us Kerfoot or Kapanen to cover the cap. I think you guys should consider it. Bouchard is definitely coming up if not at the beginning of the season , then at the deadline. Again if you watch him play you would see what I see.

I don't know Larrson that well because as a Leafs fan I obviously don't get to watch the Oilers too much but I will say there are many fans who don't get true shutdown D and the role they play. They also don't get that picks aren't traded as 1st round picks or second-round picks because not all first or second-round picks are equal. It's just not getting those aspects of the game.
Shutdown D play alongside offensive D or another shutdown to either hold the puck in the offensive zone for the offensive D or shutdown centre ice with another Defensive D and take ice away from the other team.
Picks are traded by position not round. When a team trades their first-round pick they are deciding based on a worst-case scenario where they think that pick will land or in the case of this offseason and trading picks from this year where they know it will land because a top ten or 15 pick is not a late-round pick. That's why teams make picks top 10 protected and such.
If Adam Larrson is a Muzzin type player with equal skill a Johnsson trade is absolutely possible. I think provided the Leafs could sign some key UFA's I'm sure the Oilers could even ask for Kerfoot for picks and use it to add some wiggle room for negotiations by deciding what picks they would be willing to give up for Kerfoot and then using the two together to get the deal done. They might need a side deal to free up some space but the possibility is there.

Kapanen is way undervalued on here. He's definitely worth more than Johnsson or Kerfoot even though Kerfoot is a centre and Kerfoot is undervalued as well but like I said, If Larsson is a Muzzin player then Kerfoot is probably possible.

It’s not a matter of hating, I just feel he’s not needed or worth what he gets when you have Dermott and Liljegren around, especially if you add Gudas and Larsson.

Honestly, Holl has been amazing with Muzzin. Chances are that Dermott is the odd man out and gets traded but that's just my opinion. Holl is a defensive D and that's what they do need. Dermott just hasn't worked on the right. There's a lot of opportunities to pick up another defensive D to play with Morgan.

I have provided supporting evidence to the contrary and your response is "no Larsson is actually really good...there just is no proof of that.". I have watched Larsson it's boring, he hits guys and blocks shots because he never had the puck. People who never have the puck block more shots and hit more. If you have the puck or your team has the puck you don't have the opportunity to hit or block shots.

Where do people get this myth that Holl is defensive >? He is an offensive first player (an average one at least) and below average defensively. Watch him play, he leaves Muzzin out to dry all the time and gets himself out of position or completely looks lost in his own zone. Anytime he feels pressure from an attacking opponent he folds like a cheap lawn chair.
