Taking Advantage of Some Tough Cap Situations

Created by: RFS_90

Description
I don't want to hear your Ville Heinola takes. I love Heinola, but I think he would be served well to take a year or two in the AHL, grow a bit, and play top pairing minutes. I'd far rather see him playing 20+ mins and top PP time with the Moose, than playing 10 Mins a night with the Jets.

In regards to Heinola, I totally agree...I think even one year is all that it will take...

As for the other parts...I like the Henrique deal but forget Demelo and Hamonic is too expensive at that amount...

1) Don't forget DeMelo... He has been great as a Jet. Not flashy, but very steady.... they need steady in a big way.
2) This is what Hamonic will likely be worth. I like him for the Jets, but I'd definitely be willing to consider cheaper options.

I like the Washington trade, but hope the Jets don't consider the Henrique trade. We should have no interest in paying a declining guy $5.8 mil from 30-34 years of age.

I don't mind the Ducks trade though Henrique's contract could get ugly quick and really why would Anaheim make this trade?

Lowry's a plug, Niku is meh and Spacek signed in Europe I think, I don't see what's in this for them.

Anaheim is looking for a scoring RW and a defensive RD. The Ducks would be VERY interested in signing Dylan DeMelo for that price or anything to $4 million, but Lowry's the wrong age, Niku isn't as good as half of our LD prospects and Spacek may not see North America again. If it's a cap situation, we might take them off your hands for a 2021 third, but otherwise, spending any other asset for the three of them collectively is insane for us.

Of course, they have to know... I'm operating under the assumption that he's done, based on his media availability. He spoke about, even if he is healthy, he doesn't want to play scared... clearly he is still very worried about getting back on the ice.

I doubt Hamonic gets that kinda cash and term. I could be wrong, but that's too much for too long iMO. Maybe a 3-4 year deal at 4.5-5 max.

I'm just using Evolving Hockey's Cap projection metrics... That's roughly the number and term they have.
